Creating a personal website using LLMs
Typography is the foundation of digital design. Before users see your images, before they understand your layout, they encounter your type.
Good typography is invisible. It doesn’t call attention to itself—it serves the content. Bad typography, on the other hand, creates friction. It slows reading, confuses hierarchy, and undermines trust.
Choosing a Typeface
When selecting a typeface, I ask myself:
- Does it have the weights I need?
- Is it legible at small sizes?
- Does it feel appropriate for the content?
- Will it load quickly?
The answers to these questions matter more than novelty.
Hierarchy Through Type
You don’t need multiple typefaces to create hierarchy. Size, weight, and color can do the work. A single well-designed typeface, used thoughtfully, creates clarity.
Less is more. Always.
